Add color and flair to any room when you add a piece of stained glass to the decor. Make a faux stained glass table to get the look of stained glass at a fraction of the cost. This project takes a bit of time and some hard work. The results are stunning and worth every minute spent.
Instructions
- 1
Cut craft paper to fit the size of the table. Use a pencil to draw a pattern on the paper. Use a ruler, circle compass and a straight edge to make precise lines. Trace over the lines using a permanent black marker.
2Choose the colors you will use on the table. Label each shape on the pattern with the color name.
3Clean glass and remove all traces of lint. Place craft paper under the glass.
4Pick a color to start with. Mask off all other areas with tape. Spray the first color and allow it to dry for half an hour. Gently peel the tape off and let the glass dry for several hours.
5Tape off the area for the second color. Spray the color, let it set for 30 minutes, remove the tape and let it dry for several hours. Repeat this process for all colors.
6Let the glass dry completely. Use a black paint pen and a ruler to trace the lines and make it look like leading.
7Lay the finished table top, paint side down, on a glass table base.
