How to Make a Wedding Candy Bar Sign

Candy "bars" (like a bar for drinks, but with candy) add fun and whimsy to wedding receptions. A table full of colorful and delectable treats sets the tone for a memorable celebration. Complement your chocolate kisses, gumballs and lemon drops with an inexpensive, easy-to-make sign. Use creativity and color to make a lollipop-shaped sign for your wedding's candy bar.

Instructions

    1

Cut a heart-shape out of Styrofoam. Draw a heart-shape that is at least 2 feet wide onto a poster board. Cut the heart-shape out of the poster board. Place a sheet of Styrofoam underneath the poster board heart. Use a serrated knife to cut a heart-shape out of the Styrofoam, using the poster board as a guide.

    2

Glue a stick to the Styrofoam heart. Spray adhesive onto the top 5 inches of a flat wooden stick that is at least 3 feet long. Press the wooden stick onto the back of the Styrofoam heart. Position the stick toward the bottom of the heart.

    3

Wrap cellophane around the Styrofoam heart. Cover the Styrofoam heart with cellophane paper that is complementary to the wedding colors. Allow 5 inches of the cellophane to hang below the bottom of the heart. Wrap the excess cellophane around the stick. Use the spray adhesive to keep the cellophane in place.

    4

Wrap a ribbon around the stick. Place a ribbon around the excess cellophane. Fashion a bow. Use ribbon that is complementary to the wedding colors.

    5

Glue licorice onto the heart. Spray adhesive onto licorice that is a contrasting color to the cellophane. Bend the licorice to fashion the bride's initials, a plus sign and the groom's initials. Press each licorice letter into the heart for 10 seconds to secure the hold.

    6

Place actual lollipops into the giant lollipop. Place a large swirled or heart-shaped lollipop into the top of the giant lollipop diagonally. Puncture the cellophane and Styrofoam with the lollipop stick. Place the lollipop firmly into the Styrofoam. Repeat on the bottom of the heart with a second lollipop to create the illusion of an arrow.

    7

Place the giant lollipop sign into a vase. Use a vase that is at least 2 feet tall.

    8

Pour colored glass marbles into the vase. Fill the vase three-quarters high with the colored marbles. Position the giant lollipop so that it does not shift. Use marbles that are complementary to the wedding colors.
