A small party means few guests, so if you have to bring any snacks, a casserole that serves 50 or chips and dip for the masses are probably not the best ideas. For a small party, you will be bringing smaller portions, which in turn allows you to make your snack fancier and more appealing. Does this Spark an idea?
Wrapped Asparagus
Asparagus is a versatile vegetable, especially when paired with various thinly sliced deli-style meats. After cooking the asparagus until tender, allow to cool to room temperature. To finish the snack, wrap prosciutto or ham around each stalk. Arrange neatly on a tray and place a high-quality Dijon mustard or hollandaise sauce inside a small container the center for dipping, if desired.
Mini Kabobs
A tray of miniature kabobs using colored toothpicks will be a sleeper hit for any size party. Spear combinations of grapes and fresh berries, small cubes of cheese or pound cake, olives or deli meat sliced thin and rolled to create a colorful and fun snack. The best part about the kabobs is if they are not all devoured, you can always take the extras off the toothpicks and store in airtight containers.
Sandwich Cookies
If you are tasked to bring a dessert snack, try creating your own version of an Oreo. Instead of the traditional chocolate cookie with white filling, try using small vanilla cookies with a rich, fruity cream cheese spread sandwiched in the middle or bake peanut butter cookies and spread a layer of chocolate frosting in between. Or, because it is a small party, bring both to please the chocolate lover and the fruit fanatic.
