Candy bars have become an increasingly common alternative to traditional, individual wedding favors. Typically, a buffet table is set up with jars of different candies along with tongs and scoops. Bags are placed on the table as well and guests are invited to help themselves to assembling a candy goody bag. Often the couple choose a color palette, such as brown and pink, for the candy that coordinates with the wedding color palette.
Brown
Chocolate candies will work best for the brown portion of a brown and pink candy bar and will allow for the most options. Brown is arguably the simplest color to incorporate into a candy bar due to the popularity and wide spread varieties of chocolate candy available. Place only one type of candy into each jar to make choosing simple for guests. For example, fill one jar with milk chocolate squares, another with chocolate malt balls and a third with chocolate covered espresso beans.
Pink
With the pink candy portion of a pink and brown candy bar, you can choose to use only candies of a certain pink hue, such as a pale pink, or you could incorporate a variety of shades of pink, from light pink to fuchsia to hot pink. Using a variety of shades of pink allows you greater freedom in selecting candies as you are not locked into one certain hue. It also adds greater visual appeal to the arrangement. Use pink gum drops, jelly beans, licorice and gumballs to fill the candy containers.
Candy Bar Table
The arrangement of the actual candy bar display and table is just as important to the presentation as the candy itself and should incorporate the same color palette, in this case pink and brown. Choose a tablecloth that incorporates both pink and brown for the candy bar table, or choose one color for the tablecloth and add a runner in the other color. Sprinkle pink rose petals around the table between the jars to further accent the pink color, especially on a brown tablecloth.
Candy Bar Jars
Help guests identify the different types of candy by printing pink labels for the candy dishes for the brown candy and brown labels for the pink candy, to make the labels pop. Tie ribbons in pink and brown around the center of the candy dishes as the finishing touch to the presentation. Using jars of varying shapes and sizes will help to add visual interest to the candy bar.
