Instructions
- 1
Determine the theme of the class party. A class party may be a graduation celebration or a birthday party. Acquire items that will enhance the theme of the party including specialized balloons, colorful plates, accessories for the kids like hats and fun garnishes for the food.
2Consult with your child's teacher about snack regulations and any need to bring supplies such as napkins. Teachers should be consulted about students with food allergies. Do not bring a snack to the class party that a student could potentially have an allergic reaction to.
3Prepare snacks that look fun, are a manageable size and are healthy and safe. Consult the teacher about possible food allergies among the students. Small muffins, trail mix, fruit kabobs and cut-up vegetables with fat-free salad dressing are examples of healthy, fun snacks. If a student is allergic to anything, do not include the snack in your selection.
4Plate the snacks. Place groups of snacks on plates and put each plate on a table in the classroom. Position the table so that you can stand behind it as kids walk across the front. Place a stack of plates the children can use on the side of the table closest to the door. Provide plastic forks for the children to eat with if necessary.
5Serve the snacks. Allow children to be drawn to the table by the appearance of the snacks and decorations. Ask them to take a plate and move down the table. Have them point at what they want so you can put it on their plate. Enlist more adults if you are not able to attend to each child properly.
