How to Make a Carnival Concession Booth

How to Make a Carnival Concession Booth

Whether it's for a school fair or a carnival-themed birthday party, a carnival concession stand is a must-have decoration. Not only will a brightly colored, festive concession stand look great, it's also a practical way to provide attendees with carnival treats, like cotton candy or bags of popcorn. With a little decorating, it's easy to transform an ordinary table into a concession booth that will make guests feel like they're at a real carnival. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Set up the table. A long, rectangular table works best.

    2

Cover the table in a table cloth, sheet or blanket. Select a cloth that boasts bright colors, such as red, yellow and blue, in thick vertical stripes.

    3

Create a sign. Paint "concessions" on a sheet of poster board using big, bold letters. Decorate the sign with glitter glue to make it sparkly and flashy.

    4

Adorn the front of the tables with streamers. Create a scalloped look by taping one end of the streamer to the end of the table, then taping it again about two or three feet farther on the table, but with enough slack to let the streamer curve downward about a foot. Run the streamer across the entire length of the booth.

    5

Illuminate the table with strings of decorative lights. Tiny bulbs or large round ones make the booth light up like a true carnival concession stand. Tape the lights around the edge of the table.

    6

Inflate colorful balloons with helium. Tie the balloons to curling ribbon, then tie the ribbon to the leg of the table.

    7

Top the table with an assortment of colorful snacks that are fit for a carnival. Platters of candy apples, cupcakes with bright icing, popcorn in red and white boxes and baggies of cotton candy help make the concession booth look cheery while also making it practical.
