How to Make Fashion Doll Furniture

How to Make Fashion Doll Furniture

Fashion dolls are all about their clothing and makeup. Their dressing rooms should include a vanity table and mirror with a chair and a dressing screen. Each of these furniture items can be created from poster board and duct tape and dolled up with some fabric scraps. A fashion and decorating-minding doll owner would be thrilled to find these pieces of furniture as a gift. Or, the doll owner might want to create the doll furniture.

Instructions

Make a Vanity Table

    1

Draw five 5-inch squares on the poster board with a pencil using the ruler.

    2

Cut out the squares and assemble the vanity table by attaching four squares at right angles to a tabletop square with the duct tape.

    3

Cut a strip of fabric to measure 5-inches wide and 40-inches long. Attach the fabric to the table legs for a skirt below the table top with the white glue, while folding the fabric in pleats with your fingers.

    4

Cut out a 1-inch by 2-inch rectangle of poster board and fold it in half lengthwise. Glue a 1-inch square piece of aluminum foil to one half of the folded poster board with the white glue for a folding mirror. Place the mirror on the vanity table.

Make a Vanity Chair

    5

Draw five 3-inch squares on the poster board and cut them out.

    6

Assemble the chair and attach the legs with the duct tape in the same manner as the table to create the vanity chair.

    7

Cut out a piece fabric measuring 3-by24-inches long.

    8

Glue pleated fabric to the chair with the white glue.

Make a Dressing Screen.

    9

Draw and cut out three rectangles of poster board measuring 8-by-3-inches each.

    10

Attach two rectangles lengthwise with the masking tape on the front and back edges, leaving enough tape between the rectangles to fold the pieces.

    11

Attach the third rectangle by the same method. Fold the finished dressing screen in an accordion manner.
